Dr. Ring-Ding

Dr. Ring-Ding, real-life name Richard Jung, (born June 2, 1970 in Münster) is a German Ska and Reggae artist.

First, he performed by the name Prof. Richie senior as the trombonist in the band El Bosso & die Ping-Pongs. At Christmas 1992, he founded the band Dr. Ring-Ding & the Senior Allstars which dissolved in October 2002. Dr. Ring-Ding was considered to have an excellent mastery of the Jamaica singing style, Toasting.

Dr. Ring-Ding is known for major ska and reggae collaborations with well-known artists, including Lord Tanamo, Doreen Schaffer, and others. Dr. Ring-Ding also earned acclaim with a cover of Johnny Cash's song "Ring of Fire," played with the crossover band H-Blockx.

Today he is a moderater for WDR 5 and plays as a soloist for various bands including the New York Ska band The Toasters.
