[edit] Character's History

In 1986, the character was introduced to television waves across the nation. Originally, the character was only meant to run for a few months, here and there. On occassion, Dr. Evans' children (Steven Evans and Jonathan Ortiz) are recurred on the show.

Since being introduced to the show, Evans' character has been married three times. His first marriage was to Amber Ortiz; married from 1986 to 1988. His marriage to Amber resulted in the birth of Jonathan and Steven Ortiz. They were truly in love with each other. The happy marriage ended when the two had a tragic boat accident, which saw the death of Mark's twin brother, Michael, and the belief that Mark and Amber (to each other) were dead. Since both of them were found on seperate islands, neither one knew that the other was still alive.

After the accident, Mark returned to town, but Amber did not. Still knowing that each other was dead, the couple remarried other people. Dr. Evans married Nicole Sullivan and Amber married island veteran Anthony Dunbar. Finally, five months after the boat accident, Amber returned Los Angelos with her new husband.

Now both being married to other people, they remained married to their new spouses, ending a match made in heaven. They would later find out that the boat accident was no accident. The accident was indeed set up by eenemies of the Evans family.

In 1992, Dr. Mark returned to the show. With Evans and his new family on the rise, Amber and Anthony started their own extended family. Amber had three more children, Adrian, Millie, and Stephanie Dunbar. Anthony already had two sons from the island he was raised in. Mark had two more daughters, Molly and Emily, mothered Nicole. Nicole had one son from a former marriage.
