"Dr. Le Quack, Amnesia Specialist" is the fourth episode in season one of Courage the Cowardly Dog and the first appearance of one of the arch-villains, Dr. Le Quack. However, this is the only episode in which he was classed as a doctor, and it was evidently a disguise to hide his true identity as a thief. This is a very popular and well-known episode and is widely said to be the best Le Quack story.

Eustace is fixing the roof, and when Muriel comes out to tell him to stop making all the noise, one of the planks hits her head, and it becomes evident that she has amnesia. Eustace starts using this to his advantage, and in a panic, Courage sends a message across the Internet for an amnesia specialist. The villainous French duck Le Quack receives this message, and sees this as an easy robbery. He disguises himself as an amnesia specialist, and goes to the Bagge farm, first knocking out Eustace and showing Courage that he must be a criminal. Le Quack starts vandalizing the house and trying to violently force Muriel to remember where the family valuables are so he can steal them. Courage sends out a message to the police to help him, and must fight with Le Quack a number of times to help Muriel. In the story's conclusion, Le Quack tries to suck Courage into a vacuum cleaner, but it explodes just when the police arrive. They arrest Le Quack. After Le Quack has hit her on the head, Muriel's memory has been restored. After Eustace has been knocked out however, he has lost his. Although Le Quack has been arrested, he has escaped, disguised as a policeman. He promises the viewers that they have not seen the last of him.

  • This introduces Le Quack, who battles Courage numerous times, on a par with Katz as the arch-enemy. Le Quack has many fans, and is one of the most popular villains. Unlike most of the Courage villains who are spooky and scary, Le Quack is a common criminal who usually ends up being arrested by the police.
  • This is the first appearance of the Nowhere Police.
  • This shows that Muriel used to have ginger hair. However, in Remembrance of Courage Past it is shown that Muriel has brown hair.
  • This is the first episode of the series to feature the art direction used in the rest of the series.
