Dr. KP Mohammed Kutty

Dr. KP Mohammed Kutty (Born 1936) also known as “Kunjippa” was born as the eldest son and second eldest of eleven children to Hajee KP Assainar Vaidhyar and Ayisha Kutty Umma. Born to an ambitious father, the child Kunjippa inherited the very character of hard working from his father. Being a bright student he completed his matriculation form the Punnesseri high school, Perumudiyoor, Pattambi. His father send him to Madras for higher studies in Ayurveda where he successfully completed the course by winning the Gold Medal from the Madras state for his outstanding performance in studies and exams. Dr. Mohammed kutty also completed his post graduation in Ayurvedha (Vaidhya Visharadha & Ayurveda Siromani) form the University of Madras.

Upon completion he was offered a government job which was declined as advised by his father for setting up an Ayurvedic Medicine manufacturing unit, known as Muslim Arya Vaidhyasala (Later known as MA Clinic). Dr. Mohammed Kutty is married to Nafeesa Kutty, the eldest daughter of Late Peringattu Thodiyil Moideen Kutty Vaidhyar, the then President of Irimbiliyam Panchayat of Malappuram district.

By that time his younger brother KP Aboobacker had completed his MBBS Degree from Madhurai University. Being an efficient and famous Homeopath & Ayurvedic physician by himself, Hajee KP Assainar Vaidhyar’s MA Vaidhyasala provided treatments in Ayurveda, Allopathy and Homeopathy. This proved to be a big success. The company exported medicines to patients even to the fat east countries like Singapore and Malaysia. Dr. KP Mohammed Kutty then started a Medical Shop named as Salam Medicals in Pattambi. By this time the family of Hajee KP Assainar Vaidhyar was popularly known to be as a reputed medicine family.

It was in 1986, two years after the death of his father, Dr. KP Mohammed Kutty and his brothers Dr. KP Aboobacker, KP Umer, KP Khader and KP Usman started the work for a hospital in memory of their late father. The hospital was named as JAS (Janab Assainar Vaidhyar & Sons). The construction work started immediately in the Pallippuram road and a two story hospital was inaugurated by Sayed Mohammed Ali Shihab Thangal, the state president of Indian Union Muslim League. The hospital was successful during the initial years but was later forced to abandon for many reasons.

Dr. Mohammed Kutty is the office bearer of many organizations like “Pattambi Vikasana Samithi”, Bharatha Puzha Smarakshana Samithi” and other Ayurvedic organizations. He has four sons and two daughters.
