[edit] Deletion
Hi! Sorry to have done that to you, but an article has to be more than an opening statement. It was deleted for lack of content. It isn't blocked, so please feel free to recreate it with additional content. - Lucky 6.9 08:11, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Paraguay St?
Dpapic, I don't think Paraguay warrants a disambiguation stub just because there is a street in Buenos Aires called "Calle Paraguay". Asuncion has several streets called Avenida Republica Argentina, Espana, Estados Unidos and Brasil, but you wouldn't see these names pop up in disambiguation pages for these countries. I'm going to remove this link for the time being. Mariscal8 07:36, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Dpapic: I would only add a disambiguation clause if the word "Paraguay" has homonyms, ie words with same spelling but different pronunciation or meaning. The fact that a street is named "Paraguay" does not merit adding the disambiguation clause to an article. Whomever is looking for Paraguay Street should add the "street" after the phrase "Paraguay" in order to find your article. It would be pretty obvious to a user that if he was searching for a street, avenue, or boulevard, that he should add that term after the name. Mariscal8 08:41, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Fine, go ahead and add a disambiguation clause to the Paraguay article. But for consistency's sake, you need to add a stub for "Avenida Republica Argentina" and "Calle Brasil" in Argentina's and Brazil's article. Create the stubs, link them to the "Brazil" and "Argentina" article, and I'll edit them later. Mariscal8 22:15, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Dpapic: Yes, those are names of avenues and streets in Paraguay's capital. Asuncion also contains Avenida Espana, Calle Mexico, Rome and Milan. You have to realize that Asuncion (as other cities) has dozens, if not hundreds, of streets named after countries, historical figures, city names etc. Should every street on the planet receive a wikipedia article? Just imagine how chaotic it would be! Should I create an article for an obscure, random street, just because Borges mentioned it? Not neccesarily. But if you want to remain consistent, and have any sort of integrity, you will create an article for the "Republica Argentina Av." and "Brazil Street". Then come back and tell me how well the editors for those pages recieved them...they might tell you that these articles, the same as Paraguay St., are not notable enough. [edit] Proposed deletion of Isidoro Acevedo
An article that you created, Isidoro Acevedo, has been proposed for deletion, for the following reason:
- Subject may not be notable enough to merit an article, see notability guidelines.
Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.
You are welcome to improve the article to meet these standards and remove the deletion notice. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion; note that in this case, the article may be discussed further at Articles for deletion. Thank you – Gurch 02:08, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Confesiones de invierno.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Confesiones de invierno.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:05, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] November 25
Sony changed the world. Borland? No.
Akio Morita, founder and driving force behind a company that changed the world. Del Yocam? Who? A manager hired to run an existing company.
And please don't tell me I have to explain who Shakespeare is.
All of this is moot, as your whole comparative exercise seems to assume that I've memorized and weighed all several thousand entries on the date pages. See also WP:INN for more reasons why this would be a bad assumption even if true. --CalendarWatcher 22:04, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] King Michael
Your recent addition to Jerilderie, New South Wales is interesting - but do you have a reference to go with that please?--VS talk 09:15, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. In a general sense what you have done is okay but my question was more in relation to do you have a reference or citation as to when and where (somewhere on the net or in a book or??) that Michael Jones (scholar) said what you the articles says he did? In other words how can I and other wiki readers/editors verify that what was said is correct. If as you say you just changed the link direction then you may not know. If so let me know and I will adjust the article appropriately.--VS talk 06:25, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
