[edit] History

Dozer formed in Borlänge, Sweden in 1995, they started their career out of the boredom of their small town youth, playing local youth centres and supporting whatever band that came to visit their hometown.

In 1998 the band recorded a Split EP with the American band Unida. The EP was released by MeteorCity. It was then re-issued in 2005.

While trying to get a record deal they sent a demo tape to Man's Ruin Records, which was one of the most influential labels in the stoner scene at the time. Frank Kozik was thoroughly impressed and the band quickly recorded an album .In the year 2000 the band’s first album In The Tail Of A Comet was released. The album, recorded for only $500 was highly acclaimed and was on several best-of lists for that year.

The band’s second album Madre de dios was released on Man's Ruin in 2001 but the label closed down soon after the release and so the band elected to take matters into their own hands thereafter.

For their third album they worked with Swedish top-producer Chips K, famous for his work with bands such as the Hellacopters. Call It Conspiracy was released 2003 on the bands own label Molten Universe and was very well received by media and fans. At this time the band also recorded a video for the Single Rising.

In 2005 Dozer recorded their fourth album Through The Eyes Of Heathens at the Seawolf Studios in Helsinki. The album was released on Small Stone Records with whom they had signed on to earlier that year. The album includes the track Until Man Exists No More which features guest vocals by Troy Sanders of Mastodon. Like all of Dozer’s releases the album gained great critical reviews but was denied mainstream success.

Dozer’s fan base has in the main been generated by their energetic live performances. The band have to date played more than 300 live shows and done countless tours, playing in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and even on Iceland. They have toured with and supported bands like Mastodon, Rollins Band, Hellacopters, Spiritual Beggars, Clutch, Unida, Zeke, Nebula, Entombed and many more.
