[edit] The Longest Possible Story

You wrote: Now, I'm no scientist... but I have to agree that said article seemed of little importance to an encyclopedia. Downy 08:56, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, I am. It is more relevant than e.g., Bible . Read the thing, then see the notes at the bottom of 0., then decide. - 0.

P.S., re. "Wikipedia : neutral and unbiased compilation of previously written, verifiable facts.", The Longest Possible Story meets my side of the contract (contains and refers to "previously written, verifiable facts"), whereas Deletors are not keeping theirs (to maintain a "neutral and unbiased compilation"). What gives?

[edit] Greenpoint Line

It was a street railway line, one of the first in Brooklyn. --NE2 09:05, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, rail lines are generally important enough. See for instance Category:Tram stubs. --NE2 09:09, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Blue Jew Yorker

Hi Chris,

This is my first page so I apologize for any errors. I suppose it should be a stud page. I do believe though that it fits under the heading Literary Magazines. However I don't seem to have succeeded in putting in there. Also, I can't seem to get in to edit anymore so I can't add the {{hangon}} tag. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm happy to have the page deleted and start over.Mirintra 15:45, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Bewitched DVD Releases

Hi,

Aricle is now 'cleaned up', I accidentally hit the save page button instead of preview. No big deal, I wasn't going to leave the article like that, seems you jumped the gun a little too soon there man! HeMan5 00:52, 12 March 2007 (UTC) 01:53, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nimokin

Hello. I see you put a clean up tag on Nimokin. May I suggest you look at Terjinia as well, and particularly look at its history and its talk page. I think they (though I reckon they are sock puppets) think we are idiots. Gillyweed 10:48, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You Are A Genius

Go for it, speedy. Holon67 19:46, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh, you might want to look at histories of page changes before jumping onto your conclusions, mate. Holon67 19:50, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Curly Coated Retriever

Wow, that was fast (about half an hour since I requested it)! Looks good, thanks very much. --Pharaoh Hound (talk) (The Game) 19:38, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Username incident

Hi there, please remember to sign your namr on talk pages by inserting the four tiles (~~~~). The Username was previosuly blocked indefinitely but then unblocked and has no been blocked indefinitely again as it gives the impression it is a sockpuppet which violates WP:USERNAME, it was actually previously blocked for sockpuppetry though! Happy edting!!! Tellyaddict 16:43, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Its OK, just though I better tell you! Tellyaddict 16:45, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

To customise the colours then go to Mypreferences and add the appropriate HTML codes, for example mine looks like this:
<b><font color="0066FF">[[User:Tellyaddict|Telly]]</font><font color="66FF33">[[User talk:Tellyaddict|addict]]</font></b>
and that produces: Tellyaddict

For a list of HTML colours you can visit here r you can just have instead of color codes words like blue or green. If you need any more help then simply drop me a message! Tellyaddict 16:53, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Your welcome! Also I forgot to mention if you enhance your signature then you have to make sure the raw singature button is checked (so it has a tick in it!) Regards. Tellyaddict 16:59, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Glad its working for you! Tellyaddict 17:15, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Sc-promophoto.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Sc-promophoto.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mattbr 22:21, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

The image cannot be used in Wikipedia because, as an image of living people, a free use image could be created that provides substantially the same information, therefore making it replaceable and failing the WP:FUC. mattbr 23:59, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fred Basolo

You marked the Fred Basolo as {{db-bio}}. He was a winner of the Priestley Medal, which is about as notable as it gets in the field of chemistry. -- The Anome 11:59, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ASDA

Hi.

  • Associated Dairies & Farm Stores Ltd was founded in 1949.
  • In 1965 Associated Dairies & Farm Stores Ltd merged with the Asquith chain.
  • ASDA is an abbreviation of the two parties to the merger: ASquith and DAiries. [1] (An ASDA reference no less).
  • Finally you said "I have been told by numerous people, even ASDA workers themselves..." – Please take my advice; it's astounding how ill-informed many people who work for large corporations are about their employer. I don't have any studies to reference to back that up - I'm just going from personal experience. What would you say are fundamental facts about a company? It's CEO, its approximate turnover or (in a supermarket context) the all important market share figure? I would estimate (generously) that the percentage of staff who could answer those correctly to be <20%.
  • I have a quite a lot of research tools at my disposal so let me know if I can be of further help. Best regards, Mark83 21:41, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
