The Dover 400 is the second of the NASCAR Nextel Cup stock car races held at Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware in 2006. This race serves as the second event in the ten race Chase for the Nextel Cup. The race was previously sponsored by SplitFire and later MBNA, but following Bank of America's buyout of MBNA it was decided that the race needed no sponsorship at the immediate time as a long-term partnership was desired.
