A Self-Guided Tour is where one navigates a route themselves as apposed to a "guided tour" or escorted tours where a tour guide directs the route, times, information, and places toured. Many self-guided tours come with suggestions, maps, instructions, directions, and items to see or do. This is contrary to escorted tours where most of the tour information, places to see, and things to do are prearraged by the tour guide or their company they work for. In some instances people prefer an escorted tours for convenience, efficiency in seeing and doing the most in a time allowed (i.e. fortnight). In some instances people prefer to tour themselves.
