In Season One of Disney's Doug, I removed the title of episode 24 and replaced it with ???. A title was in place, but I highly doubt it was really called "Dougs Hairy Gooch". Could someone please add the correct title? Nhbelongstome

plz do not ban me i am a noob at wikipedia how big of a asshole do you have to be to do Vandalism on a children cartoon

What? -zappa 00:45, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

This page seems a little off, like some text was added over another one that already existed, and it feels weird. Looks copy-pasted, as well. I'm fixing it up right now. Alexandre.tp 00:48, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Done. It still needs some confirmation of specifics (I didn't check), but it seems better now. Alexandre.tp

The name of the show isn't "Doug Funnie." It's just "Doug."

The fact that "Doug" is a show shouldn't entitle Disney to monopolize the name for a page. How about having this page titled "Doug: Television Show" or something so that other content can be used for the name?64.140.216.30 19:54, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

You are totally right... We should add more famous Dougs to the page that dont have their own. 24.18.80.225 20:34, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Chalky was not a friend of Doug's

Nor was he one of the main characters. Bebe was closer to Doug than Chalky for goodness sakes. Chalky was just that cool guy you know in school who talks to you sometimes. Long story short I think that should be removed from the first paragraph of the "Doug: The Series" section.

[edit] Remove Vandalism

doug is a scruff? What is this stuff, come on folks we need to get rid of this, add some main info, and put in a main picture to show what doug looks like. 4.36.195.100 13:33, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Attention

I don't see why this article has the needing-attention template... it looks just fine to me... should we take that off?

Doug is one of the best cartoons made. It is a shame they don't make cartoons like this anymore.

  • If it says it's in need of attention, but there is nothing here explaining why it needs it or who put up the tag, then it doesn't need attention. I'm taking the tag off. --Vyran 19:26, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Malinda Lin

"Doug's appearance is rumored to have been inspired by Malinda Lin."

Who is Malinda Lin? Ethan 00:33, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
Never heard of her, and Google comes up with nothing...There isn't even a Melinda Lin. It's probably vandalism. Michael 02:18, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dates

"it emerged on the Nickelodeon TV channel from 1991 to 1994, where it remained until being picked up by Disney Channel/ABC from 1996 to 1999." Does this seem poorly worded to anyone else? I'd fix it but I'm not entirely sure what is meant. It was on Nick from 91-94, then "remained" there, and then was on Disney from 96-99? Why not just say it was on Nick from 91-96? Also, how did it "emerge" over the time span of 91-94?

How about, "It aired on Nickelodeon TV from 1991 to 1994. After two years, it was picked up by Disney Channel/ABC, where new episodes were created and aired from 1996 to 1999." Needs work, but maybe it's a little clearer now. --65.147.20.5 08:44, 5 September 2005 (UTC)
  • Well, it AIRED much longer than that--heck, it was still airing post-2000 once in a while. It's just that the new seasons of the Nickelodeon version of Doug were being created/debuted from 1991-1994.

[edit] Mr. Dink

I'm going to remove this sentence "He also says the term "shag some balls" which has since become a sexual term. " To shag, in this case, is most certainly in the baseball sense of "to catch a fly ball". Austin Powers' British slang term is not relevant. LarryMac 19:50, 17 August 2005 (UTC) Ha Ha! LOL! 12.73.120.254 21:41, 24 May 2006 (UTC) The series premiered on Nickelodeon in 1991, where it ran till 1996. The episodes shown on Nickelodeon were produced during 1991-1994.In 1996 Disney produced new episodes following its takeover of Jumbo Pictures. It ran on ABC from 1996-1999. --Harj 16:30, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

      • "Shag some balls" is referencing golf, not baseball. Mr Dink is in mid-swing with is golf club when he asks "Say Doug, Wanna shag some balls?"

[edit] Roger's mom?

I was just wondering what Roger's mom's name was, and who played her.

I can't find the information anywhere, and I'd really like to know.

[edit] Does Doug still air anywhere?

It looks like both Nick and ABC have both stoped airing Doug. Does it still air ANYwhere?

I think there's a nicktoon channel or something, I saw an episode on a friend's TV recently, I don't know if he had a dish or what.--CallmeNiel 20:44, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

Nickelodeon GAS plays classic shows, maybe they play Doug?

Nickelodeon GAS is for classic game shows. They mostly play GUTS, Hidden Temple, Finders Keepers, and Get the Picture these days. Double Dare used to be on it, but all that's left is Double Dare 2000. Figure It Out is on the network. They have Nick Arcade, but it's not on at a good time.

It still airs on the Nicktoons channel in the UK.

But not in the U.S. I haven't seen Doug in years. Michael 02:19, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Patti

Cite a source for Patti's being Mexican if/when you reinsert the text, please. Dave 02:51, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

  • She sounds more like a southerner to me...definatley that's her accent.
  • Southener or mexican I dont know. She does love mexican food though. It was in a few episodes she was eating tacos and whatnot

[edit] Vin Deisel

What's with all this "Doug beat Vin Deisel in a rap battle" bullcrap? (Plainnym 14:53, 12 June 2006 (UTC))

[edit] new character pages (likely cruft)

(summarizing my own comments) A newbie demerged List of Doug characters into a bunch of pages that were copy-paste jobs. They're all up for AfD now.--Kchase02 T 06:30, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] DVD

When will Disney make the right decision and put Doug on dvd? Talk about making a few bucks! You couldnt keep the dvds on the shelf. People would be buying them left and right. A 2 or 3 disc set with all episodes, even the ones from Nickelodeon, would sell millions.

WAKE UP DISNEY AND SMELL THE MONEY!!!!

Bullcrap! Nobody would waste their money on a Doug DVD set because Doug is gay! They could just save up their money and buy a Star Wars DVD set. Luke, I am your father! 14:11, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Doug was one the most popular Nick shows ever, besides, if you like Starwars, chances are you live in your moms basement

My friend has it on dvd.

[edit] Original Doug

I am of the opinion that the original Doug was superior to Disney's Doug. Anyone else?

Yeah and my freind as well.

[edit] Episode list separated from main article

I've gone ahead and moved the monstrous episode list to its own article, since that seems to be the standard procedure. Here are my opening paragraphs:

Below is an episode list for the Nickelodeon animated television series Doug. The series premiered on Nickelodeon in 1991, produced through 1994 and running there until 1996, and then was produced and aired by Disney's ABC network through 1999.

Nickelodeon's Doug (52 episodes; 4 seasons) featured two fifteen-minute stories with a commercial break between. ABC's Doug (66 episodes; 3 seasons) had a single theme the whole episode.

See List of Doug episodes. Czj 16:36, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] a Disney and/or Nickelodeon Cartoon?

Lord Hawk removed the category of Disney series. I think this should be re-added, unless he can prove the rest of the article wrong and that Disney didn't produce the series 1996-1999. It was both a Disney and a Nickelodeon series, and should be categorized as both. Steve McLinden 03:12, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Matthew Beste

Who the heck is Matthew Beste? --user.lain 03:37, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't the "other notable Dougs" stuff be shoved on to another page? This FPS Doug really has nothing to do with the page. Dwinstigator 12:23, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
