Douglas E. Winter

Douglas E. Winter, American writer, critic and lawyer, was born 30 October 1950 in St Louis, Missouri and grew up in Granite City, Illinois. Graduated from Harvard Law School in 1975 and became a lawyer in Washington, DC, currently working as partner at law firm Bryan Cave, concentrating on complex litigation, product liability, aerospace and aviation and entertainment law. Winter has also taught legal writing at the University of Iowa, and a life-long interest in horror has led him to develop a parallel career as horror writer and horror critic. Editor of horror anthologies Prime Evil (1988), Revelations (1997) and Faces of Fear (interview book) (1985, revised 1990). Has also written biographies of Stephen King and Clive Barker.
