Douglas Drysdale was a Scottish nationalist. A member of the Scottish National Party he was involved in helping build up the party during the 1960s.
At the SNP Annual Conference in 1967 he challenged the then SNP leader, Arthur Donaldson for party leadership, but was overwhelmingly defeated. However, two years later Donaldson was defeated in a leadership contest by William Wolfe, a man with whom Drysdale had worked to help build up the SNP.
