Dougie Vipond

Dougie Vipond (born Douglas Vipond, on 15 October 1966), is a Scottish musician and television personality. He was one of the founding members of Scottish soft rock / pop band Deacon Blue. He also plays drums for the Scottish band, The Swiss Family Orbison. His first appearance in a band was at Park Mains High School in Erskine where he played in Spectrum.
Currently, Vipond is recognised for his presenting work on BBC Scotland. This mainly involves sports broadcasting, such as football programme Sportscene, and The Adventure Show.
Vipond is regularly parodied on BBC Scotland's Only An Excuse impressionist sketch show, for his slip-ups and being tongue-tied.
Vipond was in born in Johnstone, Strathclyde, and grew up in Inchinnan, although he now lives in the ancient and historical Fifeshire village of Culross, the birthplace of his wife Mandy. He supports St. Mirren F.C.
