Doug Colman

Doug Colman, born on June 4, 1973, in Somers Point, New Jersey is a former NFL linebacker. He currently serves as defensive assistant/linebackers coach in NFL Europa for the Amsterdam Admirals.

Like most American football coaches Colman started of by playing in school. First at Ocean City High School where he is a member of the hall of fame and where he was named South "Jersey Defensive Player of the Year" as a senior, gaining more than 1,000 yards as fullback. Later he played at and graduated from Nebraska before being selected in the sixth round (171st overall) of the 1996 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. He played five seasons in the NFL from 1996 to 2000 as linebacker, playing a total of 64 games for the Giants, Titans (including Super Bowl XXXIV) and Browns.

Next to much NFL experience, Colman has had various coaching experiences, working jobs such as assistant coach at Oakcrest High School in 2002 and at his old Ocean City High School as assistant coach before becoming head coach in 2003. Now in 2007, he joins the Amsterdam Admirals for the 2007 season as a member of the NFL Europa coaching program.
