Doug Blasdell (born in 1963, died January 20, 2007) was an openly gay trainer who appeared on Bravo's reality TV series Work Out. On the television show he was the oldest trainer by eleven years.

According to an inteview on AfterElton.com, Blasdell was born at St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank and went to high school in Westlake Village. During his senior year he apparently moved to northern California. The Los Angeles native earned a business degree in 1988 at the University of Southern California, and was the first in his family to graduate.

Blasdell appeared on the July 18, 2006, cover of The Advocate alongside the show's lesbian star, Jackie Warner. Speaking to AfterElton.com around the same time, he talked about how much he enjoyed working on the Bravo show. "It's a beautiful thing because it really focuses on being gay and the gay community in general," he said. "The people they picked represent our community very well. I mean, there's drama, of course. There is in any community. But the three of us give different examples of what it is to be gay. And none of it is negative." [1]**

At the time of his death in 2007 he was 44 years old and single. According to The Advocate, Blasdell died unexpectedly after being rushed to the hospital. No official report has been released on the cause of death. According to reports, he was hospitalized in December and he went into a coma not long after New Years. While he was undergoing chemotherapy for a brain tumor, reports have stated he was in remission at the time of his death. [2][3] On February 9th, 2007, Entertainment Weekly reported kidney failure as the cause of death. [4]
