Double gulp

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Double Gulp is a 64oz (1.9L) self-serve fountain drink that costs roughly $1.03 US. It is sold along with the smaller sized drinks the Gulp, Big Gulp, and Super Big Gulp at 7-Eleven convenience stores. This happens to be the largest mass produced fountain drink. The drinks include such major soft drinks as Pepsi, Coca-cola, Mountain Dew, and Gatorade. Extra flavorings can be added (cherry, blueberry, etc.) from dispensers. Customers who bring back their Double Gulp to 7-Eleven pay only 72 cents to refill their cup.

Quote from the 7-Eleven website:

"Beverages – biggest & best: 7-Eleven was the first retailer to introduce self-serve fountain drinks. When the 32-ounce Big Gulp was introduced in 1980, it was the biggest cup on the market. In 1988, 7-Eleven introduced the giant 64-ounce Double Gulp®, the biggest soft drink on the market."
