Double and Triple Eagles

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An Eagle, in general, is a nickname for a person who graduated from a Boston College school, typically Boston College High School, Boston College as an undergraduate, or Boston College Law School. The name is derived from the school's mascot; the eagle.

[edit] History

Even though not controlled by or directly affiliated with Boston College, traditional ties between Boston College High School and Boston College have survived, and Boston College remains a leading destination for graduates of Boston College High School. From the class of 2004, over 70 students from BC High were offered admission to Boston College. Alumni who graduate from both institutions are called "Double Eagles". However, students who have acquired two or more degrees from Boston College sometimes usurp the double eagle moniker. Traditionally, a "Triple Eagle" is someone who has graduated from BC High, BC, and BC Law. In recent years, the term has broadened to include anyone who has three degrees from any Boston College affiliated institution.
