Double Loop is a steel coaster in Geauga Lake. Built in 1977 by industry leaders (at the time) Arrow Dynamics, Double Loop was one of the first inverting roller coasters in the world (built just one year after the first modern looping coaster, Revolution). The Double Loop has changed it's appearance only a couple of times since its tenure in 1977. When the ride was first built, it had an all black paint job with 2 trains; one was painted red and the other was yellow. Not until 20 some years later did the ride receive a mild make-over. The ride had received a yellow and purple paint job: yellow track with purple support beams. Also the trains were now purple with a yellow stripe and yellow with a purple stripe. A tunnel was added from the train station to the beginning of the lift-hill. Today, the Double Loop still remains a guest favorite and a must ride every time you attend the park.

[edit] Trivia

  • Double Loop was the first roller coaster in the world that contains two consecutive loops.
    • This is disputed with Six Flags Over Texas's Shockwave**
