Doseone

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Doseone is the stage name of Adam Drucker (born April 21, 1979), a rapper and poet. Dose is known for his nasal, high-speed polyrhythmic rapping style and abstract lyrics. His words tend to express upon topics of childhood, nature, and American life.

He is a member of the anticon. hip hop collective, recording with cLOUDDEAD, Boom Bip, Themselves, Greenthink, Deep Puddle Dynamics, Subtle, as well as cameo appearances with many other artists, such as Aesop Rock, Sole, and Mike Patton's Peeping Tom. His latest projects have been Subtle's For Hero: For Fool and 13 & God's self-titled album.

A reoccuring character in much of Doseone's works is 'Hour Hero'. He is mentioned in The 13 & God song 'Ghostwork' and throughout the two Subtle albums. A few images have surfaced on Subtle albums, music videos, and their website, of Hour Hero, leading us to believe he is a bald man with a black and white striped face. On the cover of 'For Hero; For Fool' he appears in old military garb, with fire for hair.

Before really hitting it big, Dose was in a freestyle rap battle with a then-unknown Eminem at Scribble Jam 1997.

He published his first combination poetry book/CD, The Pelt.

Dose also was responsible for all artwork on Jel's album Soft Money.
