Dorothy Auchterlonie

Dorothy Auchterlonie (1915-1991) was born in County Durham in England. She was educated in both England and Australia, and studied at the University of Sydney. She taught at various schools, and later became the first female lecturer at Monash University, in 1961, lecturing in literature. She lectured later, at both the Australian National University and the Australian Defence Force Academy. She was awarded an AO for her services to literature.

She married H. M. Green.
