Doral Academy Charter High School is located in the Doral suburb of Miami, Florida. It used to be a psychiatric hospital, but after it went out of business, was turned into a high school. The school is now undergoing many changes and being cleaned up. The students are very excited about the changes and are happy with the space. The school has small classes (about 25 in each class) as well as an excellent staff. The school recently got accredited by the SACS committee.

[edit] New In The School

Doral Academy will be going through renovations. In January 2007, the weight training room will have new weights and mats. Over the summer break there will be a new field, extensions to the building, and construction in the gym.

[edit] Dress Code

The dress code is consisted of polo shirts, either red, white, or blue and pants of either khaki or navy blue color. There are also certain days called "jean days" where students get to wear jeans that day as approved by the principal; usually on a Friday.

[edit] Rivals

The schools rival is Mater Academy Charter High School.

[edit] Sports

The school is new so the sports department is not the best it could be. Last year, Doral did not win a single game and only scored a touchdown in 2 games. This year they did much better, by winning their first game and managing to score in all their games at least once. The wrestling team made districts this year and the soccer team is doing good as well.
