Dor-En-Ernil

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In J.R.R Tolkien's legendarium, Dor-En-Ernil, 'The Land Of Princes', was a principality of the kingdom of Gondor in Middle-earth.

Its boundaries are not clear, but The Land Of Princes probably comprised the coastal lands between the rivers Ringló and Gilrain.

Dor-En-Ernil's origins are not recorded, but is certain that the lands of Dor-En-Ernil had been settled by Númenóreans who were the friends and kin of The Faithful by the late Second Age, and that these Númenórean colonists accepted Elendil as their next King following the demise of Ar-Pharazôn.

It's earliest rulers are equally unknown, and Dor-En-Ernil's first recorded Prince was Adrahil I, who ruled in the mid 20th century of the Third Age. Adrahil's grandson founded the city of Dol Amroth, which presumably became the capital of the Principality itself.
