[edit] Angry Nintendo Nerd

The text I deleted follows this note, with a deactivated db-bio template. I should point out that I was the fifth admin to delete this article, so I don't think I'm way out of line.

I always fill in the edit summary when I delete, unless there is a speedy template already there, where repetition is pointless. The vast majority of what I delete is either already listed as a speedy, is obvious junk, or a clear breach of guidelines like a blatant advertisement. I tend to NP patrol, which is why deletion is often soon after creation - creators presumably save their text when they are ready for it to be edited by others.

I fix articles or contact if I feel it appropriate. Of course I make mistakes, but who doesn't? Best of luck with the article. I've unprotected and deleted to allow yet another recreation of this five-times deleted nonsense (sorry if that is disrespectful). The text I deleted follows:

{{db-bio} the angry nintendo nerd is a guy who makes videos trashing very bad nintendo games.

Your interpretation of what happened probably isn't right. Each time the page is deleted, it is recreated from scratch as a new page. The version I deleted had not been edited by anyone other than the creator, and it is likely that an admin would check the page history for a non-new page for vandalism of the type you mention. Google hits alone are not a sufficient criteria for notability, particularly wrt to web content. I can't speak for other admins, but you may find these guidelines useful. I don't know if you have seen the following, copied from my talk page.

Donahue2, see this, just put in the name of the article to figure out who deleted it. It's all quite transparent, actually. Mak (talk) 05:02, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

One problem you will have with the above, is that the article title keeps being changed, what I've found so far is as shown below

  • 05:13, 6 November 2006 Coredesat (Talk | contribs | block) deleted "Angry nintendo nerd" (CSD A7, nn bio)

  • I deleted the article because it contained no assertion of notability, or verifiability with multiple independent sources. If an article is to be created on this subject, it has to contain multiple sources other than the Nerd's website itself, vouching for notability per the guidelines. None of the deleted articles have done so. --Coredesat 06:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

No problem, keeps me on my toes, Jimfbleak.talk.06:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Angry Nintendo Nerd redux

The version I deleted was unsourced and had an unencyclopedic tone. You would probably be better off writing a new article from scratch, especially given that you were not the original creator of the version I deleted. --Coredesat 03:44, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

I noticed a small dispute with one of the deleting admins, but I'll go ahead and assume good faith and userfy the content to User:Donahue2/Angry Video Game Nerd for you to try to fix. When it's done, contact me or any of the deleting admins (or post on WP:RM) so it can be looked at prior to being moved. Keep in mind that if it doesn't satisfy WP:BIO and/or WP:WEB, it may be subject to redeletion at any time. --Coredesat 04:37, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
