Hey gang, just a note to explain my editing. As the seal on this page says, unsourced or poorly sourced material should be removed, and that's what I did toward the end of the article. I removed the following: "At a recent electoral debate, Atchinson's views on racial and sexual equality were raised. Over his three years as mayor, his controversial decision to fire city police chief Russell Sabo, who was widely perceived as 'Aboriginal-friendly'^{[citation needed]}, and instated himself as the police commisioner".

Firsdt of all, as a sentence, it sinply doesn't make sense, particularly the sentence starting with "Over three years..." it starts a thought and never finishes it, and is sloppy writing. Also this "fact" is unsourced, and very much opinion. Until someone has verifiable documentation bcking up these claims, they don't belong here.

Agreed. There has been a lot of ad hominem attacks surrounding Don Atchison lately (especially the poster during the last election). I think, for that reason, that this article should be treated with due scepticism. --bladebot 20:33, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
