Donovan Patton (b. March 1, 1978 in Guam), is currently the star of Nickelodeon's daytime children's television program Blue's Clues. He took over the role of Blue's owner in 2002 when actor Steve Burns quit the show, beating out 1,500 other applicants for the part. He attended Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan.

Many of the comedic dances he does on the show can be traced to an old Saturday Night Live sketch series called "Wild and Crazy Guys". He credits his ability to interact with preschoolers from playing with his little sister. He says that his biggest challenge in preparing for the role was learning how to sing.

Patton earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2005 for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series. He is a cousin of the 20th century American military general George Patton.[1]
