Donor (band)

Donor was a short lived Speed metal/Grunge band from Spokane, WA

Donor was founded by drummer Matt 'Body-Pant' Slater and guitarists Mike 'Mikey The Fish' Chase and Mike 'Stinkball' Mackey and had existed in various incarnations since 1998. It wasn't until 2003 that the band, having rotated numerous bassists and lacking a permanent vocalist, finally completed its lineup with the acquisition of singer Jason 'Tony' Webb and bassist Dustin 'The Evil Dictator' Pineau and settled on the name Donor. The band performed publicly only twice before dismissing Webb, whose singing abilities were suspect and whose on-stage performance (featuring Webb's epileptic style of dancing) was widely ridiculed. The band forged on without a singer and recorded its only demo, the grungey and vaguely Black Sabbath influenced Poop (The title is possibly a nod to the Alice in Chains album Dirt) in the summer of 2003 before performing its final show. The band called it quits that year with members departing to pursue vastly different musical projects. The band had written an album's worth of material and planned on recording its first full length We Try Easy that year, unfortunately the album never saw the light of day. A reunion tour is unlikely.
