Donna Traynor

Donna Traynor is a journalist currently working on BBC Newsline. Donna regularly works on other broadcasting items and hosts the annual Children in Need. In the highly rated tv programme Country Times, she travelled all over Northern Ireland meeting people who do weird and wonderful things. Hosting the Balmoral Show, the highlight of the local agricultural calendar, is also a regular part of her diary. Donna Traynor's introduction to journalism was with RTE in Dublin after her studies in Dublin and Lancashire. She joined the BBC in 1989 and as a Radio Ulster newscaster was the first person to break the news of the IRA ceasefire in August 1994. Donna is married to broadcaster Ronan Kelly.
