Donald D. Chamberlin

Donald D. Chamberlin is best known as one of the principal designers of the original SQL language specification. More recently, he has contributed significantly to the XQuery language specification, now a W3C Candidate Recommendation. He is currently an IBM Fellow at the Almaden Research Center.
Chamberlin is also an ACM Fellow, IEEE Fellow and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
He is the author of two books on IBM's DB2 UDB.
He holds a B.S. from Harvey Mudd College and a Ph.D from Stanford University.
