From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Donald Jay Ohl (born April 18, 1936 in Murphysboro, Illinois) is an American former professional basketball player who spent ten seasons (1960–1970) in the National Basketball Association.
A 6'3" guard from Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, Illinois and the University of Illinois, Ohl played for the Detroit Pistons, Baltimore Bullets, and St.Louis/Atlanta Hawks. He scored 11,549 points in his career and appeared in 5 NBA All-Star Games.
Ohl was involved in what was arguably the NBA's first "megatrade," an eight-player deal between the Pistons and Bullets on June 9, 1964. In this trade, Detroit sent Ohl, Bailey Howell, Bob Ferry, and the draft rights to Wali Jones and Les Hunter to Baltimore in exchange for Terry Dischinger, Rod Thorn, and Don Kojis.
