[edit] Plot
Brent Black lives on a rough estate in Brighton with his younger brother and alcoholic father. He spends most of his time fixing his old Ford Capri and modifying it until it is unofficially the fastest Capri in the country. This has made him the reluctant leader of a gang of boy racers. The problems begin when they encounter a group of racers from London who issue them a challenge. They have one week to prepare and it is during this week that Brent falls in love with beautiful posh punk Ophelia James, a relationship which creates the setting for a modern West Side Story. [2]
