Dolorian
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dolorian is Finnish dark metal band from Oulu. Their sound combines elements of atmospheric doom metal, black metal and dark ambient. The band was founded in summer 1997 as a duo of A. Haapapuro and A. Kukkohovi. The combination of varied songs, structures and melodies, several vocal styles, and obscure spiritual lyrics sets the band apart from many others in the metal genre.
Dolorian recorded their first promo cassette in autumn 1997 at Tico-Tico Studios with temporary keyboard player H. Riihinen. After all, they contracted with Wounded Love Records. J. Ontero became Dolorian's first keyboard player, with whom debut 'When All The Laughter Has Gone' was recorded at Tico-Tico Studios in 1998 April.
The Dolorian/Shining Split was recorded in 2002, but label problems left it waiting for nearly two years before it was finally released. Dolorian refused to release the lyrics for the track 'A Part Of Darkness' on 'When All The Laughter Has Gone', and several parts of the lyrics on almost all the other tracks on all releases. This is because Dolorian finds the pieces of the lyrics to be too personal to release publicly.
Dolorian is part of the Helixes musical collective.
