Docutech

The Xerox DocuTech line of production publishers was introduced in 1990 with the DocuTech 135 (DT135). This system unified digital electronics, computing and communications with xerography to create the print-on-demand industry.[1]
With it's ability to scan, receive digital files, edit files and output stitched or tape bound books, the DT135 was the first "on-demand" publishing system.
The DocuTech 6135 is an improved version of the DT135, with a Sun Microsystems workstation controller replacing the original controller and scanner. Additional improvements include an optional VLD laser assembly, increasing the print resolution to 600 x 1200 dpi.
