[edit] Short history

The infamous Dr. Evazan (or Dr. Cornelius, or Roofoo, or one of countless other aliases) considers himself a skilled physician who specializes in cyborging and physical alterations. This obviously insane man had always admired a doctor’s skill in slicing things apart and bonding them back together in new and interesting ways. He has since pursued this "profession" on his own. After easily escaping from the Delrian prison planet, Evazan quickly uprooted to the Hindasar system. There, the fugitive bought a forged license and set himself up as a "personal surgeon." Once in private practice, " the doctor," as he is known throughout a dozen star systems, charged exorbitant fees for the promise of "droidless" surgery. Wanted for the death sentence on twelve systems, Doctor Evazan was a notorious criminal. Yet even his own notoriety could not last forever. A constant companion of the Aqualish, Ponda Baba, he confronted a young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine with Ponda Baba, who lost his arm for it, courtesy of Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber.

[edit] Early years

Although no one knows if Evazan ever obtained a true medical degree, he was nonetheless remembered as a promising surgeon. His application to the Imperial Academy was rejected when his innate madness was revealed during an interview, and he was shipped off to the prison on Delrian. Evazan escaped to the Hindasar system, where he established his own "practice" specializing in cyborging and inexpensive surgery. Once the medical and law enforcement authorities caught up with him, he disappeared to another system, where he began his operations anew. He would repeat this process on several worlds, with occasional forays into spice smuggling, slaving, assassination, and other crimes. He never stayed in one location too long, and his movement from planet to planet helped him gain more and more victims.

Evazan was searching for immortality, and was hoping that his experiments on his patients' insides would point him on a path to discover it. This pursuit of immortaility earned him the nickname "Doctor Death", among others.

His legacy of victims led him to be pursued by the bounty hunter Jodo Kast, who nearly caught up to him in the Corellian system. Thanks to the intervention of the Aqualish thug Ponda Baba, Evazan managed to escape, but not before one of Jodo Kast's blaster shots caught him in the face. Evazan was scarred for life, but he and Baba formed a beneficial partnership.

Evazan and Ponda Baba fled Corellia to hide out on Tatooine, where he set up the Cutting Edge Boutique. Evazan used the boutique to continue his search for immortality until he encountered Luke Skywalker in the Mos Eisley Cantina. They tried to bully the youth into a fight, but found themselves on the wrong side of Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber. The two of them fled the scene after Baba's arm was cut off.

[edit] Project Starscream and death

Sometime shortly after the Battle of Yavin, Dr. Evazan was contacted by the Empire to work on the top-secret Project Starscream, an Imperial project attempting to create an army of supersoldiers. The Empire hoped that Evazan could create a way to make soldiers immortal. Through this project, Evazan continued his pursuit of immortality by conducting experiments on the dead on the planet of Necropolis. With the resources provided by the Empire, he eventually succeeded in creating a serum which reanimated freshly dead humans. During his stay on Necropolis, however, Evazan learned that he still had a bounty on his head (despite his connection to the Empire) and was being hunted by the bounty hunter Boba Fett. Evazan was eventually killed by Fett on Necropolis, and his serum was lost.
