A young Bulgarian peasant yearns to be a sculptor. He was content at one time to be a field worker like the rest of his family, but when he discovers that he has a talent for drawing and sculpting, he wants to train as an artist. His mother worries that he will neglect his farm work, but eventually agrees that his talents deserve to be explored.
