Doberdò del Lago (Doberdob in slovenian) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Gorizia in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 30 km northwest of Trieste and about 11 km southwest of Gorizia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,459 and an area of 26.9 km2.[1]According to the census 1971 96% of the population are Slovenians.
The municipality of Doberdò del Lago contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Devetachi (Devetaki), Jamiano (Jamlje), Marcottini (Markotišče), Visintini, Palichisce, Micoli, Bonetti, Lago di Pietrarossa, and Lago di Doberdò.
Doberdò del Lago borders the following municipalities: Comeno, Duino-Aurisina, Fogliano Redipuglia, Merna-Castagnevizza, Monfalcone, Ronchi dei Legionari, Sagrado, Savogna d'Isonzo.
