Dobříš

Dobříš (IPA: [ˈdobr̝̊i:ʃ]) is town with about 7,900 inhabitants, 40 km south of Prague. It was first mentioned in 1252 in a document signed by King Wenceslas I. Dobříš was given the town privileges by King Ferdinand I in 1543.
In the 19 century the town became known because of developed glove manufacturing, founded here by Jew Salamon Abeles. After the Second World War a glove factory (Rukavičkářské závody) was operating here.
In the town there is also a castle, connected with the Colloredo-Mansfelds. In the city centre and near the main road to Prague, there are Bobcat-factories.
Near Dobříš, in Stará Huť, there is a pond, where Muskrat was first released in continental Europe. [1]
