Douglas Adams, originally in an interview from 1985, with an official The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy towel on his left shoulder. The towel contains the text from The Guide about towels. It is unknown if the full interview from which this image appears has ever been released in any medium. Excerpts have appeared on the North American DVD release of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV series and on the DVD release of City of Death. The image is used in the articles The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Douglas Adams to give a historical image of the author, in 1985, and to provide proof of the official Hitchhiker's towels, which were sold in the mid-1980s and have become very rare. For these reasons, it is believed that the use of this image, in a technically inferior format (JPEG), will not infringe of the rights of the owner of the original interview, Kevin Davies.
