The Romanian national road DN2 (Drumul Naţional 2 in Romanian) links Bucharest with the historical region of Moldavia in north-east Romania. Recently upgraded, it is today the best-maintained road in the country. Along the 500 km from the city capital to Siret, at the Ukrainian border, the road has four lanes and reconstructed bridges. Along with the adjacent section DN28 Roman - Iaşi, it is currently Moldavia 's backbone.
