[edit] Baseball history template

Hello DI2000. I started this project. Your addition is well appreciated as the page looks better. Cheers. MusiCitizen 13:56, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed by an automated bot. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. The above vandalism accusation was indeed received in error. The page in question was October 8 in baseball, but the history shows that it was an anonymous user User_talk:203.131.119.43 who squidded up that page a few hours ago. The earlier edit was indeed from me, but over two weeks ago and was non-vandalistic. MusiCitizen created that page and approved of that change as per the above comment. [edit] Quebec Autoroute

Hi there, yes, I like your font better. If you'd like to change the rest of the shields to the new font, that would be great! Thanks. Darkcore 21:23, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

This award is given to Dl2000 for the fastest edit I've seen in a year to supply solid references to an article. My highest regards to you - may the Wiki bring you all the best there is to offer! --HappyCamper 00:02, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Forsythe

Good and thorough job on the Forsythe dab page. I added a link back to Forsyth. Oliphaunt 00:05, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Offenbach

For what it's worth, John McGale was already mentioned earlier in the article, so I'm not really sure why it was necessary to restate his full name in the post-breakup section if you weren't also going to restate Breen Leboeuf's and Pierre Harel's and Michel Lamothe's and Pat Martel's full names. [edit] Category:Canadian fiction writers

Hi...Category:Canadian fiction writers isn't actually meant to contain individual writers; it's supposed to be a parent category for more specific subcategories such as Category:Canadian novelists, Category:Canadian short story writers, Category:Canadian science fiction writers, etc. When writing up articles on Canadian writers, could you please use one or more of those subcategories (as appropriate) instead of filing someone directly in Category:Canadian fiction writers? Thanks. Bearcat 06:14, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Quebec Autoroute 70

I know that Autoroutes 19 and Autoroute 31 are shorter than Autoroute 70...however, the link says that many in the area think of it (unofficially) as the "World's Shortest Autoroute". I know there are several unsigned autoroutes that are a mere fraction of THIS road's length, as well. http://webfil_92.tripod.com/autoroutes_en/id16.html is the source link. :) RaccoonFoxTalkStalk 02:32, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Flags

Hello. Do you happen to have any idea what happened to the Lieutenant-Governors' flags, other than Ontario's? They've all vanished for some reason. Biruitorul 03:55, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

OK, I'll give it a try. Sorry if it seemed I was accusing you of being responsible–far from it. Biruitorul 03:47, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hodding Carter III

Thanks for your help so far. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge of wikipedia so cheerfully. I looked into my source that you need a password for, and the reason I didn't realize that was because I automatically get logged in with my university IP address. So I guess I can't use that online source. However, it is an excerpt from a book, and it has the page numbers and stuff. So are wikipedia users allowed to cite hard copy books? If not, I'm sure I'll be able to confirm the information elsewhere; it'll just take a little more time :)

Mnpeter 04:06, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Thank you again for helping me! I've got it fully sourced with that print article now.

[edit] Sources tag at Heroes Chronicles.

Hmm. How to say this. I don't agree with adding the references tag to that page for one simple reason: it's a stub. Most stubs don't have sources on Wikipedia and it was just made it today. I'm not saying that the sources tag is always incorrect to add to a stub- if an article makes seemingly fishy claims, go ahead- but I think this was a fairly inoffensive article.

For an example of an article that merits the references tag, see something like Gluten-free, casein-free diet. That article makes several strong claims that, while possibly true, are totally unreferenced aside from somewhat unreliable External links, so it's reasonable to warn the readers that there aren't any sources and adding some would be appreciated. SnowFire 19:54, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. That does work better while still emphasizing the need for sources. SnowFire 21:01, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sid Vale

Unlike yourself i dont live far from sidmouth england so i dont need you to tell me about sources as the article was written from personnal knowledge. Putting 'my brain' as a reference would seem inappropriate.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tad102 (talkcontribs).

[edit] Gilmore Girls episodes

Regarding the "tags" on the articles such as Merry Fisticuffs (Gilmore Girls)... each article should have an introductory paragraph that explains this is about an episode of the Gilmore Girls show. Some added detail such as season, date of broadcast, etc. can be helpful coordinates to establish context. For an example of how an episode page can be formatted, see The Dad Who Knew Too Little from The Simpsons. Hope that info helps with the formatting issues. Dl2000 04:19, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

So why tell me? I can't fix them. All I did was confirm the context. I did that because of the context tags. -Will Pittenger 04:23, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sources

Or "unreferenced" tag takes "date=December 2006" - confusing isn't it? But if you leave the date bit out altogether, a WP:BOT will come along and put it in for you. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 10:30 6 December 2006 (GMT).

[edit] Re: talk pages

Regarding this heinous comment: You ought to read WP:TALK, specifically: "Don't edit others' comments: Refrain from editing others' comments without their permission (with the exception of prohibited material such as libel and personal details). It is not necessary to bring talk pages to publishing standards, so there is no need to correct typing errors, grammar, etc. It tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Never edit someone's words to change their meaning." - the operative word there is "comments", perfectly legitimate for me to remove a "vote", considering we do not operate under votes at Wikipedia (WP:CONSENSUS). Pertinent to this now I'd welcome you to remove this warning you have left me, and furthermore read m:Voting is evil, finally to conclude I'd remind you that something unsigned is not a comment. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 17:24, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Matthew, I suggest that you read these articles a bit more your self. WP:CONSENSUS contains the quote - "Formal decision making based on vote counting is not how wikipedia works (see Wikipedia is not a majoritarian democracy) and simple vote-counting should never be the key part of the interpretation of a debate. When polling is used, it should be seen as a process of 'testing' for consensus, rather than reaching consensus". Nothing in that vote went against any wiki guidelines and yet you went against guidelines by removing anothers post in the talk pages. You are infact trying to hide behind m:Voting is evil which has never been adopted as wiki policy or guideline. I also find it ironic that you are requesting someone to remove a warning when you believe you can accuse me of making a malicious edit and then refuse to retract or apologise. I would suggest you put your own house in order first. And I belive the warning should remain. Munta 20:29, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DS9 'Cancellation'

Deep Space Nine was NOT cancelled, the producers ended it.. Please reply to me on my talk page Illyria05 (Talk Contributions) 22:59, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I won't mess with it either, but I'd support a renaming of the category to 1999 tv finales (regardless of whether show was cancelled, because cancellation category does not sound right in my opinion).. Illyria05 (Talk Contributions) 00:36, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
