Hello...
I'm currently reading Economics & Management at Pembroke College, Oxford, but live in Kent - The Garden of England. I originate from India, specifically from the coastal town/city of Mangalore. The photo below-left was taken there in December 2003. Please use my awesome navbar at the top of this page to browse around my user pages and see a bit about me and what I do. One thing I will mention, however, is my CD Collection, which consists of around 140 albums and is one of my proudest possessions. Check out its contents here (N.B. it's not complete yet!) At this stage, I'd like to clear up two Wikipedia-related things: [edit] My Basic WikilosophyI believe that the best way of achieving NPOV is through acceptance of POV. That is to say, if someone openly declares their POV then the reasoning behind their edits becomes more obvious, making it easier to reach consensus. I think The German Solution for userboxes, endorsed by Jimbo, is the way to go, so feel free to use any of the userboxes I have created on the above link. I am proud of my POV and openly declare it, and I think others should be too. However, I strongly oppose POV user categorisation, which can result in the railroading of votes and or edit wars. [edit] CopyrightsOne of my more infamous quotes on Wikipedia, "damn right I don't respect US copyright law - why would I? Not everyone here is American, so why should we give a rats about US copyright law?" [1], caused a furore of sorts. I am not going to back down from what I said - I openly declare my dislike for US copyright law, and most things American. However, many people missed an important aspect in what I was saying. One of the most important things in life is that you have to accept things you don't like - I spend most of my life doing it. It is annoying, it makes you irate, but it has to be done. However, at no stage does this mean that you have to agree with it. One of the great parts of free society is that you can openly express your disdain for a law without retribution. Disagreeing with the law does not constitute breaking the law.
[edit] LondonLondon is, IMHO, the greatest city in the world, and it is for this reason that I created the London Portal. It is now a featured portal, and (at present) is almost entirely run by me. If you love London half as much as me, please join WikiProject London or leave me a message and help maintain the focal point of what is a huge web of articles. ALSO, please VOTE for next month's featured pages for the London Portal. Vote for either: [edit] Edit History

[edit] Messing with The ManOn 3 November 2005 I was (rightly!) blocked for violation of WP:CIVIL. Although the block was justified, seeing 3 hours of work disappear before your eyes as you watch your watchlist was pretty painful, and I decided to write a rant about the "stupid system". As I emphasised above, I strongly believe that open POV provides the foundation for NPOV consensus, and for that reason I choose to keep my comments from 3 November, as a record of the incident and my views at the time, on this subpage. I emphasise that these comments do not reflect my views as of any time subsequent to the incident. I do not justify or condone the comments, but I do not believe it is right to shy away from the past - the only way to move on from the past is to accept it. Furthermore, I like to think of myself as an example of how effective use of force can enable volatile users to take account of the broader picture and become more sensible editors in the long run.
