[edit] Bernard Jones
Emerging from the underground is a new breed of artist in the Electronic music scene. This next generation of DJ's and Producers are breaking all barriers in style, creativity and genre. They are bending the rules of all pre-conceived notions and sentiments of the masses, while maintaining an artistic integrity. At the forefront of this movement is Bernard Jones.
Bernard began his musical background at the tender age of five, where his Grandmother and Aunt insisted on his classical training in piano. Growing into a musical environment became second nature to this young man. He stayed in the midst of music throughout his scholastic career, and ended up studying percussion under the tutelage of University of Missouri's Percussion Director, Chris Hollyday. His high intelligence and clever wit; solidified his grasp of music and its underlying theories. At this point is where the past fused with the present.
Bernard Jones learned of the art of DJ-ing through the likes of local legends, like John Millard, DJ Gizmo, DJ Hugh Tychen and Phaded. He became such an apt student, that he began to surpass some in talent and technical knowledge in the art. From there most points become history, as Bernard began becoming involved with the underground Electronica scene.
Immersing himself into the culture wholly, Bernard began evolving his presence in the industry and began to study the established artists of the day. There were some that after meeting Bernard began to help him further his career. BT (Nettwerk), Grayarea (Hope Recordings), Dave Aude' (Moonshine), Frankie Bones (Moonshine), King Britt (56Media), Don Tisnley (Vista), Ben Armstrong (Blue Iguana Music), Mark Almaria (Dirty Fabric),Karl Almaria (Bunchlox), Ion (Aroma Recordings), The Sound Navigators (Doubledown), The Sound Republic (Spatula City), Joey Youngman (Jackin' Tracks), Jay Tripwire (Northern Lights), Marky Starr (Omni AM), Special K (Billboard) and many regional producers and artists, came to the aid of Bernard Jones in guiding his career and musical production.
His music production is influenced by many sources and is shown in the diversity of his catalogue. Genre has no meaning to a true musician, and Bernard reflects that. He has done original work in many styles such as, Breakbeat, Intelligent Dance Music, Drum and Bass, House, Techno and every sub-genre in between.
However, still unsigned as of late; Bernard Jones is not deterred in his quest to bring his musical complexity to all forms of media and environments. He has been involved with remix invitations from some of the industries most established labels such as, Nettwerk, CL Recordings, Spundae, Embrace the Future, and even some personal invitations from the artists themselves.
Bernard has released bootleg remixes, and has supported labels by submitting demo remixes to various artists, via freelance work also. However the main focus of this musical evolution is coming to rest in live remix work?alongside of DJ performances. Bernard still maintains his amazing skill behind the decks, but as most visionaries do, he sees the future in live PA. Equipped with in-depth knowledge in almost every hardware and software system and setup, it is almost certain that Bernard is one to watch.
