I think this is the time for me to introduce myself. I am Divaker. I am doing research on media planning and buying behavior. I have studied plenty of softwares, rate cards, theories, research articles, survey tools, campaigns in last three years. My story begun with a small campaign i did for a client three years back. I had to struggle a lot to know very lil of media planning. I visited almost every book store to get a good book on MP. But you know what i have got "Good for nothing “ waste to money kind of stuff.Very few good books written on media planning or by an real media planner. I got plenty of books from american/british/europian or some other world's marketing guru. We need something which can tell us the difference between national, local, or world wide client. Which can tell us how to write your story board, how to start a creative campaign, the most important negotiation with media vehicles.
Discounts / packages / schemes / viewership /readership / reach / languages / supplements / sponsorships / channels / programs / movies / outdoor / indoor / adds on buses / adds on huts / events / miss world / mrs world / cricket / soccer / polo / auto riksha/ sachin ke kandhey pe / fansi ke fande pe or na jane kahan kahan kahan kahan etc/etc/etc/etc. Every day a new story, every week a new research. Every 2nd day a new magazine or a newspaper. Every 10th day a new channel. Every min a new client. Every sec billion adds on million vehicles. Story is endless.
But do exactly some one know WHAT MEDIA PLANNING IS ALL ABOUT .
Few says media planning is all about numbers, few says it is about selling, for few this is creativity, clients want to save, M-planner wants to spend. Most of the time client has some crazy idea but most of the time it works. Anyways but where how when we are going to learn about all those fabulous trends or ideas.
