Division of Hotham

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Division of Hotham is an Australian Electoral Division in Victoria. The division was created in 1969 and is named for Sir Charles Hotham, Governor of Victoria 1854-55. It is located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, including Clayton, Huntingdale, Oakleigh and Springvale. When it was created it was a fairly safe Liberal Party seat, but demographic changes have made it increasingly strong for the Australian Labor Party. Its current member, Simon Crean, was party leader 2001-03.
