Divine Right's Trip is a novel by Gurney Norman set in the 1960s which chronicles the awakening of the hippie stoner Divine Right (Davenport) as he travels with his patient and introspective VW Bus, Urge. It was originally printed in installments as an adjunct in The Last Whole Earth Catalog. Norman also wrote the short story collection "Kinfolk: The Wilgus Stories" (1977). Both the novel and the short stories share an Appalachian background.
