Divine Predecessors are the brains from the former bodies that were occupied by His Divine Shadow. They contain the memories from their rule and are the source of power as well as advisors for the current His Divine Shadow.

While His Divine Shadow was a cunning and sinister character who was never played for laughs, the Divine Precessors were evil but generally ineffective thanks to their complete immobility, and their petty arguing with Stanley Tweedle was often the source of comedy. Stanley finally enjoys a moment of triumph over them, when, under the threat of destruction, he forces them to sing a song in his honor:

Stanley Tweedle is a god, a warrior, and a gent
We are not fit to suck on his feet or dine on his excrement
At night we croon by the light of the moon
Of his courage and his creed
Hey, ho, there he goes; woe, woe to his foes
Long live the Tweedle seed!
Stanley, Stanley, top of the hero class!
Stanley, Stanley, we live to kiss his ass!

Many of them were devoured by a Cluster Lizard that got onboard the Lexx during the first episode, others were eaten by Giggerota (who found them 'too salty'), others were harvested by Bog to make Pattern, and the last were all destroyed by His Divine Shadow, when he became the Gigashadow and swept onboard the Lexx to hunt down and kill the crew members.
