[edit] History
She was Lucien LaCroix's daughter. She was brought across by a healer named Qa’Ra, an ancient vampire who lived long before the pyramids were built. He felt vampirism was the only way to cure her of a ravaging illness. During the period when Mount Vesuvius was erupting and laying waste to Pompeii, Divia brought her father across to immortality. Later on, the two travelled to Egypt where they found the tomb of her maker. LaCroix is told by Divia that she destroyed him because he tried to control her. When LaCroix learns that Divia wants to make love with him, he decapitates her. She returned in the third season with a giant chip on her shoulder for Daddy Dearest.
After trying to kill LaCroix, she was staked through the back by Nick in the episode "Ashes to Ashes."
[edit] The Disciples of Divia
In 1998, a small but devoted Internet faction arose to resurrect Divia in fan fiction and other mediums. The Disciples of Divia(DoD)maintained that Divia was not truly evil but a character who had been wronged by her creator, Qa'Ra. DoD writers established a fan fiction storyline wherein Divia had not only been Brought Across, but raped by her Sire as well. This resulted in her personality becoming psychotic.
In a subsequent(but unfinished) fan fiction novel posted in installements on the Net, it was established that Divia's ashes, which LaCroix believed he had sufficiently disposed of at the end of the episode "Ashes To Ashes", were gathered by a mysterious cult and kept for several years after the events in that episode(which took place in May 1996). In 2000, Divia was resurrected during a Satanic ceremony by the cult, but her Sire, Qa'Ra, was also able to manifest and killed the cultists. Divia was left with amnesia for weeks until she was finally restored to her true self--and purged of her psychosis. Regretting her evil past, Divia sets out with a new group of friends(including a young vampire artist) to track down and destroy Qa'Ra once and for all. The action takes place in the fan novel "Dark Resurrection."
[edit] Controversy
Needless to say, the DoD was not enthusiastically welcomed into mainstream Forever Knight fandom. Members vehemently defended Divia on several fan lists, and the Founder was banned from most FK forums. He and a core group of Divia fanatics kept the DoD running for several years, but it apparently disbanded unofficially in 2003. As of this writing(March 2007) plans are underway to revive the group.
[edit] Kathryn Long
Divia's portrayer,Canadian actress Kathryn Long(born July 12, 1982),did a phone interview with the DoD founder in November 2000. Ms.Long stated that Divia was her favorite role and she was very proud of the DoD and grateful that such a fan organization existed. Now 24, Ms. Long has apparently left acting and has found a new career as a ballet dancer and instructor for DanzeMode Productions in Vancouver, B.C.
[edit] Divia on the Big Screen?
Rumors persist of a possible Forever Knight film in the future. Many former DoD members believe Dakota Fanning would be perfect for the role of Divia.[citation needed]

[edit] Divia: In the Beginning
A prequel stand-alone story that starts before Divia is Brought Across, and continues from 79 AD to 99 AD, the twenty-year period Divia and her father Lucius(later "LaCroix") wandered the ancient world. The novel delves extensively into Divia's psyche, and introduces a love interest, Lienius, a Christian slaveboy. He eventually dies in the arena after rejecting Divia's offers to turn him. This further plunges her into madness.
