[edit] Blue Ditto Section

Serebii.net says that the chance of getting shinies through breeding is not increased. http://serebii.net/games/shiny.shtml Can anyone prove the Blue Ditto thing or should it be removed?

there's alot of extra stuff that i'm gonna delete if no one can come up with references... Blueaster 21:13, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Diamond/Pearl game-guide content

I'm a bit torn about some of the "In the Pokémon video games" section right now, specifically the paragraph about Diamond/Pearl. On the one hand, it's very detailed and possibly violates WP:NOT. On the other hand, Ditto's uniqueness is that it can breed with any pokemon and pass on moves, and according to WP:PAC/S#In_the_video_games it should probably stay.

So what should be done? Keep the paragraph? Remove it? Trim it? Any ideas?

For reference, the paragraph is:

In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl it has been revealed that, if fainted while transformed, Mew or Ditto will still keep the moves they learned while transformed, thus making this very useful for breeding (in Ditto's case, not Mew's). Because Ditto can Transform into any Pokémon, except already Transformed Pokémon and Substitutes, it can have any moveset. Thus, a player can have their Ditto transform into Smeargle, who already knows the moves the player wants. Then, the Ditto will be defeated in battle. The player can breed this Ditto with a Pokémon and pass on the wanted moves to the offspring. Thus, any non-legendary, non-baby Pokémon can receive a custom moveset, without the player paying for valuable TMs. Also, some impossible movesets will become possible. Skarmory must breed with Fearow to learn Drill Peck, but Fearow cannot learn Curse. Skarmory must breed with Farfetch'd to learn Curse, but Farfetch'd cannot learn Drill Peck, unless it breeds. If the Farfetch'd knows Drill Peck, then Curse is impossible, since Farfetch'sd must breed to learn Curse. In this way, Skarmory cannot have both Curse and Drill Peck. However, if a parent Ditto knows both the moves, then both moves can be passed on to Skarmory. In this way, Milotic can have both Dragonbreath and Confuse Ray. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bhamv (talkcontribs) 12:19, 31 January 2007 (UTC).
