Distributed Feedback Laser

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Distributed Feedback Lasers (DFB) are laser diodes wherein the active material is structured in a lattice-like. The lattice has period on the order of the wavelength of light and thus Bragg scattering is present in the structure for wavelengthes around (Lamba)= 2nd, n - refractive index of the medium, d - the period of the lattice. This lattice serves as an optical feedback.
