Distant Dream

Distant Dream Studios was formed in 2003 as a collaborative creative project to bring together different art-forms to express a common message. The deliverables for this project were defined as two commercial music albums, a book based on a fictional story and a website bringing all the elements of the project together. This is a group of enthusiastic, talented but strong willed artists, authors, graphic designers and musicians spread across India, Sweden, France and the US.

The Distant Dream project was started by Arunava (Deep) Banerjee in 2003 in Calcutta, India. However, the project started taking shape in Ann Arbor, Michigan, when Sujit Srinivas started taking an active interest the project.
When Deep moved to New London, Connecticut, the members took advantage of the internet to collaborate on the completion of the project. Most of the artwork was created in France, the sound engineering was done in Ann Arbor, the web design in New London, the mastering in Philadelphia and the story editing and writing in India. The project's first CD finally became a reality on 4th May, 2005.

The first commercial album was released on May 4th, 2005 along with the deployment of the website. Work was almost immediately started on the second commercial album.
