Dissident Voice
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dissident Voice is an internet site that describes itself as a "Radical Newsletter in the Struggle for Peace and Social Justice." DV was founded as a hardcopy newsletter in 2000 by its editor and publisher Sunil K. Sharma, an activist and professional musician based in Santa Rosa, California, and became an exclusively internet publication in mid-2002. DV is co-edited by long-time contributing writer Kim Petersen, based in Nova Scotia as well as writer Joshua Frank, based in New York. While the editors describe themselves as libertarian socialists (a variant of left-wing anarchism), Dissident Voice publishes a wide range of articles and commentaries on domestic and international politics from leading voices across the left spectrum. In December of 2006, DV added BrickBurner.org as its official news blog.
Contributing writers include: Robert Jensen, Patricia Goldsmith, Lila Rajiva, Walter Brasch, Jonathan Cook, Leilla Matsui, Joe Bageant, Paul de Rooij, Tanya Reinhart, Gene Gerard, Lucinda Marshall, Ahmed Amr, Gabriel Ash, Norman Solomon, Bill Quigley, James Petras, William Blum, Peter Kurth, Sheila Samples, Bill Christison, and many others.
